WHO AM I?
Greetings!
Thanks for checking out the Blog and reading through some of my thoughts and struggles [Check out my PHOTOGRAPHY page too!]. My name is Rebecca Swanson Groves. I became an ordained Deacon in 2022 and am now work as a Curriculum Consultant at a homeschool resource center. My husband John and I moved to Illinois during COVID in 2020. We live in a tiny town in central Illinois. Harper-Lee and Dr. Lou Watson, our cats, enjoy the small-town life and defending their castle. I am an undergraduate from St. Ambrose University in writing and English (because I couldn't decide I also have degrees in journalism and art history). I have always been a mid-west girl, growing up on a family farm in Illinois, attending college across 'the river', and working around the state of Illinois, before moving, attending, and graduating from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky with my Master of Divinity specializing in Spiritual Formation. It is safe to say, I love to learn! I love taking classes and going to school, I will always be a learner. With learning, though, comes tons of questions and processing. This is the premise of the blog. Sometimes it seems like ramblings, but it is my way to process, inform, educate, and work through things in my life.
I have been married for nearly 10 years. My husband is an engineer working remotely for a Baltimore-based company. I work at a faith-based homeschooling resource center. We are navigating the waters of infertility, the release of hopes and dreams that we have held, and of course the storms of life in the world currently. When I started this blog, my posts came from many things we discussed in class. Now that I have graduated, a new journey and a whole new set of questions have broken through. This blog is about life, joys, struggles, resources, and prayers!
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I love hearing from you, so please leave me comments or send me a personal message. I want this blog to spark discussion, illuminate complex topics, and share my love for God, family, friends, reading, and writing with you.
~Be A Blessing!
