WHO AM I?

Greetings!
Thanks for checking out the Blog and reading through some of my thoughts and struggles [Check out my PHOTOGRAPHY page as well!]. My name is Rebecca Swanson Groves I am a provisional Ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church. My husband John and I moved to Illinois during COVID in 2020. We live in a tiny town in central Illinois where I serve as a Student Ministries Director and Outreach Pastor in another tiny town nearby. Harper-Lee, our cat, is enjoying the small-town life and defending her castle. I am an undergraduate from St. Ambrose University in writing and English (because I couldn't make up my mind I also have degrees in journalism and art history). I have always been a mid-west girl, growing up on a family farm in Illinois, attending college across 'the river', and working around the state of Illinois, before moving, attending, and graduating from Asbury Theological Seminary with my Master of Divinity specializing in Spiritual Formation degree. It is safe to say I am one of those classic learners. I love taking classes and going to school, I will always be a learner. With learning though comes tons of questions and processing. This is the premise of this blog. Sometimes it may just seem like ramblings but it is my way to process, to inform, to educate, and work through things in my life.

We are still living in out "honeymoon" phase of marriage, having been married for 6 years. My husband is an engineer working remotly for a company based out of Florida. I am appointed to a local church as well as at a faith base homeschooling resource center. We are navigating the waters of infertility, the release of hopes and dreams that we have held, and of course the storms of the life of the world currently. When I first started this blog my posts were coming from a lot of things we were discussing in class. Now that I have graduated, a new journey and a whole new set of questions have broken through. This blog is about life, joys and struggles, resources, and prayers!

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I love hearing from you so please leave me comments or send me a personal message. I want this blog to spark discussion, bring light to topics that are difficult to talk about, and share with you my love for God, family, friends, reading, and writing.

~Be A Blessing!
